Daubentoniidae
Daubentoniidae consists of one species of primate, the Aye-Aye ['I-"I]. Aye-Ayes
are rarely seen due to it's shy nature, nocturnal lifestyle and it's
disappearance due to the destruction of it's habitat. Aye-ayes primarily eat
seeds, fruit, plant matter and insect larvae. Their middle finger, which they use
to tap on wood and listen for hollow cavities, is elongated. When a cavity is
found, the Aye-Aye will chew into the wood and extract the insect larvae with
their middle finger. They have dark, course hair on their bodies and beige hair
on their face with black eye rings and a pink nose. Their tails are long and bushy.
